Yard & Coop Review

On Saturday I was very kindly invited to a special blogger event at Yard & Coop in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. I don’t want to over do this post, but if you like chicken then you HAVE to pay a visit!

I had chicken thigh, Yard & Coop style with BBQ sauce plus 2 sides; chips & home made coleslaw:

I tend to find fried chicken very greasy. Well Y&C have only gone and totally nailed the perfect combination of tasty and succulent buttermilk chicken with no grease at all. I would say it’s what some chain stores wish they could serve, but just don’t.

As if the damn delicious chicken wasn’t enough of a treat, look what else I got to try:

The ‘Rule the Roost’ cocktail

I also tried a ‘hard shake’ called Salted Karamel, and I cannot actually describe in words how good it was. It wasn’t like drinking alcohol, more like an ice-cream dessert. Let’s not think about the calorie content…!

I was more than pleasantly surprise by Yard & Coop. It’s like a little oasis of calm in a very busy city, and thankfully doesn’t try to be like all the other restaurants in the area. It’s welcoming and overall does mighty fine chicken. So, what are you waiting for?
