Sunday 19th January – Another first!

So after a few pretty turbulent days, I achieved another first yesterday: I cried at the gym, or rather in the toilet at the gym. Not my finest moment but at least it was in private… Anyway rather than go on about why let’s just say I’ve decided not to let things get to me, and I have finally realised that it’s OK to say how you feel instead of bottling it up. I have also realised that boxing really is my favourite type of exercise! My training session with Chris involved a lot of boxing yesterday. It was the only thing I could really get any enthusiasm to do, but I felt so much better afterwards. 

What I have learned over the past few months is the importance of good friends. I don’t mean knowing lots of people and speaking to them every now and then but calling them friends. I mean the people who you can be the real you with, who you can say the stupidest thing to and never feel judged, who will support you no matter what. I know I’ve met those people and I feel incredibly lucky to have them in my life:

I still find it difficult that there have been so many changes since I started my health and fitness regime, as I really didn’t expect most of it, but I also feel as though I am finally starting to live my life the way I want to. Only took me 30 years!
