Monday 30th December – the last gym session of 2013!

Back in the gym again today. I had a pretty sore lower back when I arrived, which I stupidly mentioned to Chris. OMG that man is strong!! He basically worked on my lower back to try and loosen it. This involved me lying face down on the gym floor while he tried to help make things a bit easier. Ouch, ouch, OUCH! Anyway, once that was over I did the following:

Split squats
4 sets of 15 reps

With pull downs
4 sets of 15 reps at 30kg, 35kg, 40kg, 45kg

Tabata with prowler: 20 seconds work with 10 seconds rest x 8 times

Boxing combos and sprints to finish


The tabata with prowler was intense! Tabata is basically high intensity interval training, so you are doing a cardio workout in a very short space of time, but getting all of the benefits. Basically it knackers you out!! 

I then did a lot of boxing rounds and combinations, but Chris made me run in between every round. As he knows I have signed up for the 10K run in May, he is really working on my cardio levels. It’s tough, but hopefully will help make a big difference. 

So that was the last gym session of 2013! I can’t believe how much my life has changed in the last 6 months. There is no way at the start of the year I would have ever contemplated stepping foot inside a gym. It truly is amazing how much your life can change in such a short space of time!
