Wednesday 20th November – Another crazy few days

It has been soooo crazy for the past few days!

Here’s a quick recap of what I’ve been up to:

So today I was very kindly invited to a charity ladies lunch at a hotel in Manchester, which had a real Christmas theme to it.

There was a three course lunch of vegetable soup (no bread roll obviously!), roast turkey with vegetables and a couple of small new potatoes, and chocolate torte. I will admit that I ate the dessert….
I wore the dress again! Twice in one week! I am starting to enjoy wearing it, but don’t tell anyone I said that!
The lunch was in aid of The Frost Foundation, a local children’s charity who do fantastic work helping disadvantaged children.
I had a really lovely time with some rather fantastic ladies.

After the glamour of yesterday it was back to work with a bang! My boss has to go on a business trip at the end of this week so I’ve got a lot to sort out for that, but the big thing we’re preparing for is the official opening of our new beautiful building. I am very excited about it as I have worked with my boss for over 4 years on the preparation, discussions and completion of the building. But the real reason I’m excited is because we have a special guest opening it…

Possibly one of the best days of my life ever! So as I said above, today was the official opening of the new building and it went really well. It went so quickly but I am now shattered! Shattered but happy!!
The special guest was the truly amazing Guy Garvey, lead singer of the fantastic elbow, who are one of my all time favourite bands. I had the total pleasure to meet the whole band last year as Guy received an honorary degree from MMU
Tonight I got to look after Guy and show him around, along with the lovely Sharon from his management company.
When you imagine celebrities I suppose you think they will be arrogant, rude and totally disinterested. Not Guy! He had time for everyone who asked for a photo or wanted to speak to him even though we were working to a very tight schedule. He gave a brilliant speech and had the whole audience laughing and involved from start to finish.
The best part of the night was when Guy had to leave (not that I wanted him to leave!!) and I got a big bear hug and a kiss on the cheek. SWOON!!

Not to top last night, but when I got into work this morning there was a signed DVD waiting for me!!

It completely made my day!

So I think it’s safe to say I’m a very happy girl right now!
