Thursday 7th November – I’m an award winner!

Wow, what a crazy few days I’ve had!

Yesterday I was officially named North West PA of the Year at the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards 2013! It was a lovely surprise just to be nominated, so I’m really pleased and honoured to have won it. Here’s a photo of my beautiful award:

And, lovely blog readers, here’s a first, a photo of me!

Just to prove I won, and exist! I’m the one with the cheesy grin looking straight at the camera.

The ceremony was a great experience. It’s so refreshing and inspiring to see so many successful businesswomen and hear their stories. I am hoping this gives me the boost I need to move forward with my career.

Just waiting for the job offers to roll in……..

So, back to reality!
As the awards took place yesterday (Wednesday), I did my training session with Chris on Tuesday. Before training was measurements….
I lost another 3 inches, which means I’ve lost 20 inches in total so far!
I am really, really pleased with this. But it’s only spurring me on to do better. I haven’t lost any more weight, and although there are far too many variables when it comes to the scales, and the outcome, I know I have quite a bit still to shed. So the lovely Chris is going to increase the amount of cardio in our sessions. Lucky me!!

He had told me in advance of Tuesday’s session that we were going to do a more technical one. I had a feeling this meant working on my range of movement when it comes to squats and walking lunges, and I was right! This is what we did:

Split Squat (front foot elevated):
15 left leg, 15 right leg

Walking Lunges:
2 lengths of the gym

Split Squat (front foot elevated):
15 left leg, 15 right leg: 5kg dumbbell each hand

Walking Lunges:
2 lengths of the gym

Farmers Walks:
20kg kettlebell in each hand while doing lengths of the gym

Boxing:
40 jab & cross, 40 hooks, 40 uppercuts
40 jab & cross, 40 hooks, 40 uppercuts, 40 hooks, 40 jab & cross
40 jab & cross, 40 hooks, 40 uppercuts
Sprint 2 lengths of the gym

40 uppercuts, 40 hooks, 40 jab & cross
Sprint 4 lengths

40 jab & cross, 40 hooks, 40 uppercuts
Sprint 6 lengths

30seconds devils chair > sprint 1 length with prowler + 40kgs x 2 reps

I have a much better range of motion in my right leg. The squats and lunges were really hard on my left side. I am in so much pain today. It hurts to walk! The farmers walks were ridiculous. I could barely get my hands round the handles of the kettlebells! As always the boxing was great fun, but the ‘sprinting’ in between not so much! But I survived!
Saturday mornings are now going to be all about cardio work, which means a lot more prowler sprints (HELP!!) and circuit type workouts. I just want to get to the point where I don’t feel like I’m going to be sick!
A pretty busy few days really. I need an early night!
