Wednesday 25th September – part 2: Training is the best therapy!

Following this morning’s particularly negative post, I thought I should write an update to assure you I haven’t given up.
I find writing this blog quite therapeutic so being able to offload somewhere without having to speak is a total blessing.

I was a bit of a girl today and got upset at work, although I managed to confine this to the toilets! I did end up with scarily red eyes and a blotchy face, but as I like my office to be quite dark no one noticed. I told a friend at work how I was feeling and she gave me a good talking to, which was much needed. I also sent Chris a message to let him know I wasn’t having the best day and as always he listened and gave me good advice. I have to admit that I was almost tempted to cancel my training session with him tonight. In the past whenever I was having a bad day I would shy away from seeing friends or going out. I know it wasn’t the right thing to do, but at the time I was so caught up in the tornado of negative thoughts and feelings that nothing made sense.

However! I did go training and it was great. Chris really does know how to bring the best out in me with the training. He doesn’t let me feel sorry for myself but he listens. He doesn’t judge, he supports. As always I feel very lucky and grateful to train with him.

So tonight’s session was sweaty and full on!

I really do love the boxing. It was tough tonight because my arms were tired, but so much fun!

I have 6 weeks until the next event I’m going to, so I really need to make sure I nail my food and training. I want people to notice a difference but I really want me to notice it!

Food today: egg white omelette with ham & mozzarella, apple, turkey stir fry with small amount of sweet potato for lunch (leftover from last night), small amount of 85% chocolate before & after training, steak cooked in Kerrygold butter with broccoli, corn and sweet potato for dinner

Whilst cooking dinner I also cooked chicken breasts for tomorrow and Friday’s lunch:

Cavewoman in training!
