Wow! Toughest gym session ever!!
I have never worked so hard in a gym and A) survived, or B) enjoyed it
Chris really pushed me, and it was pretty punishing, but it feels good to have done it! So here’s what we did:
Warm up on the leg press
walking lunges, 12 reps x 3 sets
TRX squats, 12 reps x 3 sets
leg press, 25reps at 40kg x 4 sets
neutral pull down, 6 reps at 50kg x 4 sets
TRX row, 12 reps x 3 sets
press ups on barbell, 25 reps x 3 sets
sled pull, 2 lengths of the gym backwards and 2 lengths forwards, all at 70kg
slam ball, 20 reps x 3 sets with 5kg ball
boxing (pads), 1 set of 50 and 1 set of 100 hits
That’s a lot of exercise for one session! Heavy weights and a lot more reps than usual. If that can ever become part of a usual routine then sign me up! If I can lift my arms tomorrow I’ll be doing well!
I know I’ve said it before, but I really am very lucky to have Chris as my trainer. His encouragement and enthusiasm throughout the sessions make it much easier to keep going. But the support doesn’t stop there. He is always on hand to listen to any queries or worries I have, and happy to provide level headed advice whenever I freak out (which is far too often!). So, no matter how tough I might find this whole experience, it’s a hell of a lot easier with Chris on my team.
So for now happy Clare is back. Let’s hope she sticks around for a while!
