Do you ever feel as though you have a little devil on one shoulder and a little angel on the other? I definitely do at the minute. Only in my case it’s a negative scaredy cat and a stubborn fairy! 
The negative cat is saying: ‘you know this is going to take ages, don’t you? Those jeans still don’t fit you, in fact they look pretty awful! You’re going to make a fool of yourself when you try and exercise. It’s going to be embarrassing.’ 
Then the stubborn fairy crosses her arm over her chest, raises her eyebrow and says: ‘Erm, screw you cat! We are going to do this and we’re going to be amazing! In fact we’re going to kick the fat up the arse and show it who’s boss.’ (Fairy now has hands on hips in Wonder Woman pose).
The problem is the cat is much more prominent than the fairy. Just when I’m feeling good about everything, up he pops with his sneering face dripping poison into my ears, and I fall for it every time. Not only am I physically weak, but this makes me realise I’m mentally weak too. It’s much easier to believe the bad parts about yourself and accept defeat than stand up (hands on hips) and say: ‘actually, I’ll show you I CAN do this!’ 
I think it’s time for Clifford (the scaredy cat) to lose one of his lives. 

Anyway! 


I got my feet checked out today and it turns out I have ‘over pronation’, especially in my left foot. That is: ‘common biomechanical problem that occurs in the walking process when a person’s arch collapses upon weight bearing. This motion can cause extreme stress or inflammation on the plantar fascia, potentially causing severe discomfort and leading to other foot problems.’  Here’s the link for more info: http://www.foot.com/site/foot-conditions/over-pronation

I now have made to fit insoles and new trainers, which when combined should help to improve things:

Food today: poached eggs and bacon for breakfast, banana, ham salad for lunch, roast beef with baked sweet potato, cabbage, carrots, green beans and sugar snap peas for dinner, strawberries

My current fitness level is extremely bad. My thighs are aching today and I only did a very small amount of work with Chris yesterday. It doesn’t bode well for future sessions! However, this has made the stubborn fairy wake up and demand that I don’t let that put me off. Time to dig out my fairy wings then!
